Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northeast Houston Until 10 PM

Weather Information
The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northeast Houston until 10 p.m. due to strong storms moving across the area.

At 8:56 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over northwestern Northside / Northline, moving northeast at 10 mph. Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts were reported with this storm.

Protective Actions
People in the affected area are urged to seek shelter immediately in an interior room without windows and on the lowest floor of a building.  People should bring their pets inside and delay travel or outdoor activities until the storm passes.  

If travel is unavoidable, reduce your speed to avoid hydroplaning. Heavy rains may also impact the area and only a few inches of water can float a vehicle. When you see water covering the road, Turn Around, Don't Drown®.
